Getting to know Leslee

q. How did you arrive at choosing this business? What path brought you here?

It was a little bit random.  I was helping my friend stage a home, and we had breakfast one morning and she was crying out of exhaustion and frustration about the difficulties of providing great a customer experience in her Real Estate business.  I asked her how I could help her – I said, “what if I take the real estate test and come work for you?”  And she said, “would you?” I said “sure, no problem.” So I took the class during the month of December, studied EVERY DAY except Christmas morning. I passed the class exam and the state exam on my first try, and here I am today!

q. What are you known for professionally?

I have a knack for home design and for making friends. I’m in this industry because I love the home buying/selling process.

q. What’s the one problem you are best at solving for your clients?

Buying or selling a home creates emotional stress no matter if it’s your first or fifth transaction. I excel at leading my clients through the process in order to mitigate that pressure. I work very hard to keep the process smooth, and without stress.  I take on a lot, and lose a little sleep sometimes, but better me than the client! My ideal clients have said that my personality and lightheartedness kept the process easy and fun.  And all have said that they have made a new friend in the process, which I love.

q. What is your professional background?

I worked for Dreyer’s/Edy’s Grand Ice Cream as the executive assistant to the Vice President of Sales for almost 10 years. I was fortunate to be able to stay home and care for my children for the next 10 years, and I worked for LOFT while I homeschooled my son. and became a Sales Lead in San Diego.  I transferred with LOFT to North Carolina, and then began my real estate career with KW. I think if all goes according to plan, I will work here for the next 10 years!

q. What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?

I am most passionate about giving the client an excellent experience.  My job is to lead them through the process and keep my clients fully informed along the way. I love being on a team and working towards a common goal.  I love listing homes and actually “selling” them. I believe an agent who falls in love with her homes, can sell them easily. I love to help people see how a house will work for them and become a home they will ultimately love.  I also LOVE to stage a home.

q. What can’t you stop talking about?

Personally, I am passionate about my faith, my family and my children’s future.  I really enjoy being with my friends, playing games, going to concerts, going to the lake and being with my family.  I can’t stop talking about Gigi’s Playhouse – a non-profit agency that is volunteer run and is designed specifically for kids with Down Syndrome.  I love this group of people and their heart for our kids. I also volunteer for the Miracle League in Cary.

q. What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?

When I am not working, I am home.  I love my home and I love to entertain my friends and family here. I love to spend a day off in the sunshine with a glass of wine – I will never say no to Prosecco – and a really good book.

q. How long have you been doing what you do?

I have been “doing” real estate my whole life. It’s in my blood.

q. Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now?

I grew up in Northern California, near San Francisco and then moved to San Diego. Caterpillar moved us to Raleigh in 2010, and I absolutely love this area.

q. What would be impossible for you to give up?

My kids, my husband, wine. But not necessarily in that order.

q. Why would someone not want to work with you?

Oh my gosh, I have no idea. Maybe because I am too talkative or energetic?  Sometimes my thoughts are not always linear and I tend to jump around a little bit. For the record, I’ve never been fired and I ALWAYS get the job done.

q. How do you want to be remembered?

I want to be remembered as someone who never met a stranger.  I hope people will always see me and my home as a safe place, as a person who can be trusted, and who always made them feel loved and welcome.

Aside from that, I’d love to be remembered for representing my clients excellently – especially when it comes to selling and buying their next home!
